Third media review

Third media review- Music

I like all types of music but a genre that always catches my attention is rock and rap. I grew up listening to a lot of rock songs and i don't have a favorite band. One that i want to talk about is Linkin Park which was created in 1996. It all started with 3 high school friends that made a 4 track demo tape on makeshift bedroom studio. This american rock band became famous with their first album called"Hybrid Theory" back in 2000 (17 years ago!). They were certified diamond by the RIAA also multi platinum in several other countries. "Meteora" (another album of theirs) topped the billboard 200 in 2003. This band was rated the 6th best band followed by the third best millennium band. A lot of people know this band and think of transformers. This band is very unique because the electronic sounds they mix in with the rock is smooth and creates a mood just like a movie. They have adapted a new type of rap rock theme. Its amazing to hear two genre's at once! Linkin park has collaborated with Jay-Z bringing in new fans. Linkin Park has more of a rock vibe and less rap in their work. This band to this day still has that amazing 2000's vibe to it, just when rap was getting really really popular along with rock. A band that reminds me of Linkin Park is RED. They have similar unique sounds that set the mood(mostly violins). This band is a christian rock band but has the same vibe and the singers sound almost identical in my opinion but you can still tell the difference.

Popular songs of Linkin Park:
-Crawling
-In the end
-Numb
-New divide
-What iv'e done
-Bleed it out
-Faint
-Burn it down
-Breaking the habit

Popular RED songs;
-Already over
-Breathe into me
-Darkest part
-Break me down
-Hide
-Pieces

I recommend listening to one of each of the bands songs.
I love both of these bands.

Do you know what MADD stands for? Mothers Against Drunk Driving. Recently, I saw an add online. It was just a picture in the dark of gradient road signs. The whole point for this add it to set a visual for consumers about drinking. Of course when you're driving under the influence, its bound that something is going to malfunction. Whether its the person driving, the vehicle or somebody else that has nothing to do with it! People don't realize how fast they're going when driving in the daylight. At nighttime you can definitely see how fast you're going because its dark out, therefore your pupils will widen letting more light in. This is just a natural human function. Drunk people will see signs or lights, only seconds too late. This is a problem because for one, its dangerous to the person under the influence. They cannot operate the vehicle in time or in the right manner to be safe. All of their cognitive/coordinative functions are suppressed, there speech is slurred. if drunken people can barely stand how do you think they can operate a vehicle? Not only is drunk driving dangerous for the person that's under the influence but what about the innocent people just trying to walk along the sidewalk or driving on the road to go home? This add really sets the mood because its literally so serious, nothing about this add is funny or entertaining. We all should be motivated and keep our family/friends safe when drinking. This includes locking keys away in a safe, calling taxi's, don't let your friends get alcohol poisoning from drinking too much and if they do call 911.

My first media review will be about the movie "Get Out". This movie has been rated almost 100(98%) on the rotten tomatoes. A lot of people like this movie and so do I, but there are some things about the movie I was questioning after leaving the movie theater.
1. Why were two different cultures/ races targeted? I mean maybe that's why the best films are always so twisted because they catch the viewers eye but it just left me wondering why.
2. I was also wondering why the movie seemed so short, its like the ending came way too fast, I didn't understand how they could jump from the scene of the guy escaping the house after he killed a whole family and servants to the scene where his friend magically shows up to rescue him? I know his best friend was a part of security for airlines but still, just how did his best friend manage to find his exact location? I don't recall the main character giving him an address, just a location of where he was heading and why he was getting sketched out. The lady servant also kept unplugging the characters phone so it would die and it did.
3. I also wondered on this scene where the family had a get together the character sensed something sketchy and took a picture of one of the servants. His nose suddenly started bleeding??and he snapped out of hypnosis. He screamed to the character to "Get Out" but he didn't take the chance. Shortly after he fell upon hypnosis by the families mother and she captured him. The remaining of the movie it showed him trying to fight the hypnosis, but why couldn't the other characters do that? Also what does picture flashes have to do with snapping out of hypnosis??
The overall movie was really good and I enjoyed it but these are some of the things that left me questioned about this movie. I would rate this movie 9.5/10.
